KSM Technology

KSM System - Kinematics Smart Measurement System is an innovative solution for condition assessment and monitoring, as well as early damage detection for mechanical systems and components such as drivetrain, pitch, and yaw systems. In contrast to conventional solutions that measure vibrations at the housing of components, the KSM sensor can capture signals directly from rotating components. This minimizes signal interference from structural damping effects and enables more precise diagnostics with a minimal number of sensors.

Efficient and fast measurement of blade bearings

KSM technology enables reliable detection of potential damage and minimizes downtime.

  • Efficient measurement: The measurement is done by simply rotating the rotor blade into the correct position.
  • Minimal effort: A complete measurement per blade bearing, including installation, pitching, and deinstallation of the sensors, takes only about 10 minutes.
  • Damage such as breakouts, wear, and even cracks are detected. The KSM system is also suitable for permanent condition monitoring of the blade bearings.

Unique measurement of yaw bearings

With the innovative KSM system, yaw bearings can be measured easily and precisely. In addition to detecting damage on the raceways, KSM can also be used to determine and monitor the tilt clearance as an indicator of wear.
 

Precise evaluation and monitoring for the drive train

With just one sensor on the low-speed main shaft, the KSM system captures signals for comprehensive condition monitoring or evaluation of the entire drive train.

Thanks to its long battery life of up to 2 months, the system is ideal for long-term transport – any shock above the set threshold values is reliably detected and documented.
